Luo Xiaoan, born in 1963, obtained his Bachelor’s Degree at the Department of Modern Applied Physics, Tsinghua University in 1986, and Master’s Degree at the Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2007. From July 1993 to December 1994, He worked at CERN in Switzerland and participated in the design of the accelerator at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). He worked at KEK in Japan from December 2000 to November 2001, during which he joined in the physics studies of the accelerator at KEKB. He is now a professor and the Associated Director of IHEP. Areas of Research: Accelerator physics and technology, Management Science and Engineering Achievement and Experience: He mainly engaged in the research of accelerator physics and technologies. As the BEPC Operation Manager and the Deputy Chief Engineer, he was in charge of the management of the operation and upgrade of the Beijing Electron Positron Collider. As the head of the BEPCII Office, he joined in the efforts with the BEPCII Management in the upgraded project of BEPC. He worked as the head of the Scientific Research Bases at the CAS Bureau of Planning and Finance from 2009 to 2012, during which he was responsible for the management of CAS national large research infrastructures, key laboratories, engineering center etc. He was the deputy head of the CAS Large-Science Facilities Office. He is now the Deputy Director of IHEP and in charge of the State-owned Assets Office and Administrative Management Office. |
